MY portfolio

Since I was strong enough to pick up a camera, I’ve practiced photography, an art that lets me freeze time and capture fleeting moments that are otherwise lost in the blur of everyday life. What began as a simple hobby—born from my parents’ requests to take pictures of them during family outings—quickly evolved into a fervent passion that allows me to impact and interpret the world around me. Photography has become my medium for storytelling, a way in which I can document the seen and the unseen. Through my trusty Canon lens, I capture the quiet resilience of people, the overlooked beauty in urban decay, the hidden textures of familiar spaces, and the complexities of identity and culture that often go untold.
For me, each shot acts as an opportunity to reveal something new, to invite others into my perspective, and to prompt them to reflect upon their own. I’ve come to view photography as a language, one that doesn’t require translation and can be universally understood; a language that speaks directly to shared human emotions—joy, sorrow, isolation, and connection. It has allowed me to bridge divides, bringing attention to underrepresented communities and stories that might otherwise remain invisible. More than just images, my photos are windows into a layered world where every detail tells part of a larger narrative. With each click of the shutter, I feel not only the satisfaction of being creative but also the responsibility of capturing truth and fostering understanding through visual art.

Date Completed: 2024

"Me and My Canon" is a self-portrait captured through the lens of my camera. My Canon has been a vital part of my life, enabling me to express my deepest creative aspirations and discover new ways of self-expression. By framing my view of the world through this lens, I, in turn, framed myself, capturing the inseparable bond between my identity and my art.

Something we all deserve and have the right to no matter the situation.
