DANiEL SHIN

Hi, my name is Daniel Shin, and I’m currently a senior in high school. I have a strong passion for photography, storytelling, and exploring the intersection between art and identity. Growing up as a Korean American, I constantly find myself moving between two cultures—one rooted in the traditions of my heritage and the other in the modern rhythm of life in the United States and the hustle and bustle of New York City. This dynamic has become more than just a part of who I am; it has shaped my worldview, guiding how I approach both my art and my daily life. I constantly grapple with the tensions of my heritage while growing up in the United States. This duality both shapes and fuels my work—whether I’m capturing the vibrant energy of the New York City streets through my Canon lens or exploring cultural themes in my writing. I find meaning in moments of connection and creativity, which is why I’m dedicated to using art as a medium to tell stories, foster empathy, and build bridges between communities.
